Michael Rodgers

Michael Rodgers

Michael was born and raised in Hicksville, Long Island, where he grew up attending Holy Family Parish, participating in the children's choir, adult choir, and as a cantor. He is a graduate of Holy Family Elementary School & Holy Trinity Diocesan High School. He received his B.S. in Music Education from Molloy College in 2006, his M.A. in Music Education from Hofstra University in 2009, and his post-graduate certificate in educational leadership and administration from Stony Brook University in 2014.

Michael previously served as the Youth Choir Director and Youth Ministry, Coordinator of St. Bernard's Parish in Levittown from 2002-2014. Additionally, he often substitutes as a liturgical musician at other parishes in Nassau County and served as a retreat & motivational speaker for high school aged students.

Michael has been at St. Mary's since December of 2013 and is thrilled to be welcomed to this wonderful parish and congregation. Michael is also a general music and chorus teacher in Valley Stream District #13, a member of NYSSMA, the Nassau Music Educator's Association, Long Island Orff-Schulwerk Association, and Long Island Blues Society.
